Paolo Cannavaro has admitted that he ‘dreamed’ of ending his career at Napoli, but is happy to have joined Sassuolo.
After being shut out by Rafa Benitez, the central defender decided to leave the Partenopei last month, eventually signing for the Neroverdi.
“Do I have any regret or bitterness? No, there’s nothing like that,” he told reporters.
“The fairy tale is over because sooner or later everything has to come to an end.
“I dreamed of closing my career at Napoli, but that just wasn’t possible. I played there for seven-and-a-half years without any controversy, and I won’t start now.
“The loan here expires in six months, and only then will I decide my future.”
