Mario Gomez has enthused at his return to training with Fiorentina, whilst he is expected to be ready by Week 24.
The 28-year-old rejoined his Viola teammates for yesterday’s workout, for the first time since suffering a recurring knee injury in September.
“[It] was a great feeling to be back on the training field with my teammates,” wrote Gomez on his official Facebook page yesterday evening.
“However, the atmosphere was not positive for the defeat [on Tuesday to Udinese]. But, I am convinced that we will win the second leg and we will go through to the [Coppa Italia] Final.
“A thousand thank yous for your support. Yours, Mario.”
The forward is speculated as likely to be in contention for a return to playing time from Week 24’s home test against Inter, on February 15.
