It has today transpired that the businessman’s official takeover of the Yorkshire side has been delayed for the immediate future but that has not stopped him giving further details of his plans.

“I will go to the bank on Thursday and buy the stadium,” Cellino has told the Financial Times.
“I want to buy and better manage Leeds. A club like them has great potential.
“Soon I want the fans to see matches like Leeds United-Manchester United, matches that they were used to experiencing up until some years ago.
“I want to make the fans happy because I know what it means to be one of them.”
