The director of Lega Calcio Marco Brunelli has revealed that the date of the Coppa Italia Final could be moved.
Fiorentina beat Udinese 2-0 last night in the second leg of their semi-final to set up a date with either Roma or Napoli in the final.
The match was initially set for Saturday May 3, however, Brunelli has revealed that should the Viola, and or the Partenopei make the last four of the Europa League, the Final will have to move to Wednesday May 7.
“We have two dates set up at the moment,” he told reporters. “It’s going to be either Saturday 3rd or May 7th.
“Everything will depend though on how our teams get on in the Europa League.
“If one of the two teams in the Coppa Final make the semi-finals of the Europa League, then we would have to move it to the Wednesday, because the last four of the European competition takes place on May 1.
“Our priority is to play the Coppa Final on Saturday, mainly for the prestige of the competition.
“But if one or both of the teams make the Europa League semis, then that would just not be possible.”
