The Italy international has been plagued by injuries this term, going under the knife in December for a foot injury.
But Gazzetta dello Sport have confirmed that El Shaarawy is allowed to remove his protective boot and can begin a four-week programme to regain strength and muscle.
In a month’s time he will then travel back to Holland to see if he can start training properly.
