The Gazzetta dello Sport suggest Inter President Erick Thohir is planning to announce Nemanja Vidic’s signing as early as this month.
The Nerazzurri have been increasingly speculated as the frontrunners to pick up the 32-year-old centre-back, who has confirmed recently that he is leaving Manchester United in June, at the expiry of his contract.
The Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that whilst there is speculation of interest from Spain, Russia and Galatasaray, only minor details remain between the player and Inter agreeing a three-year contract on a starting salary of €2.6m.
It is a situation that the pink paper suggests has owner and President Erick Thohir planning to announce Vidic’s capture during his next visit to Italy, between February 21 and 27.
Sporting director Piero Ausilio was reportedly in London yesterday to meet with the Serbian, who has apparently requested a dossier on all the players based in Serie A, as well as the teams and relevant information.
