Rudi Garcia said Roma are “angry wolves” after their Coppa Italia exit and will take it out on Sampdoria.
It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday at 19.45 GMT, click here for a match preview.
There will be no fans in the Curva Sud or Curva Nord – the ends of the stadium – after a two-match ban for anti-Neapolitan chants. The club has now lodged another emergency appeal.
“We’ll see how it goes. It changes nothing for us, as we must play to win and push forward,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“The attitude of the team must not change, or perhaps the absence of the fans could even improve it, as we will try to win for those who can’t be there with us.”
This test comes just days after a 3-0 Coppa Italia semi-final defeat at the hands of Napoli, so now the Scudetto remains their only chance of silverware.
“We respect Sampdoria, but do not care who we are playing against. They have quality, that is obvious, but we must concentrate on our own football. We need to pour in all the anger we’ve got after Napoli. We will show that we are angry wolves.
“We must isolate the Coppa Italia from Serie A, as it is a different tournament with a whole other approach.
“We knew before the semi-final that it was possible to reach the Final or to go out. Napoli have quality, after all.
“As always, after the game I analysed it with the footage. Now I am 200 per cent positive about my team, who in seven months have shown they can always give their best. It can happen that in one game the incidents don’t go your way.
“Now we must play well and with confidence tomorrow, not forgetting all we’ve done before. That is the way to win.”
Francesco Totti, Dodo and Federico Balzaretti are out injured, but Garcia insists there is no need to rest others.
“I don’t see any of my players struggling with fitness levels and will not make choices tomorrow based on physical considerations.
“Mattia Destro is ready. When a striker doesn’t have chances, that’s when he ought to worry, but he only needs a goal tomorrow to get back to the level we know. He returned from seven months out and scored four goals, don’t forget.
“Obviously we’re better with Totti, but he won’t be there. It is only a knock and he will return soon.”
