“I see dedication and conviction in my players, which gives me hope. We always play to win, pouring our love for this jersey on to the field,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

The Amaranto are currently in joint-penultimate place with Sassuolo, both on 17 points from 23 games.

“I believe we can survive. We know that we have to give 100 per cent every time, but without pressure. At most we’ll leave that to the last three or four rounds.

“In football there is always good and bad luck, but I remain convinced you need to earn your own luck,” continued Di Carlo.

“Against Cagliari we must be courageous, as the only way to stop the Sardinians is to attack them. They play well and I have to compliment their Coach Diego Lopez.

“Their best player is Daniele Conti. He has been the soul of this team for 10 years and always finds a way to get them out of trouble.”

Luca Siligardi and Cristiano Piccini are out injured.

Livorno squad for Cagliari: Bardi, Anania, Aldegani; Valentini, Rinaudo, Mbaye, Emerson, Mesbah, Ceccherini, Coda, Castellini, Gemiti; Mosquera, Duncan, Luci, Benassi, Greco, Biagianti; Belfodil, Emeghara, Paulinho, Borja
