Amadeo Carboni has warned Milan that Atletico Madrid have ‘renewed enthusiasm’ heading into this midweek’s Champions League clash.
The Spanish head out to San Siro for the first leg of their Last 16 clash with the Rossoneri joint top of La Liga with Barcelona and Real Madrid.
After a recent blip in form that yielded three consecutive defeats across League and Cup, Diego Simeone’s men are back on track, according to former full-back Carboni.
“Atletico have renewed enthusiasm after the defeats in the Cup to Real Madrid and in the League to Almeria,” the 48-year-old has told Premium Calcio this week.
“David Villa is available [after injury], in the winter market arrived Diego Ribas. They are a strong team.
“Atletico exert pressure and their recovery of possession and their set-plays remain very good.”
