Vincenzo Montella believes he could one day return to Roma, but insists he is happy and focused on a Fiorentina outfit he is also grateful to.

The 39-year-old technician is highly rated for his early career work on the bench, which, whilst in a second year with La Viola and on from a season at Catania, began in Serie A with the Giallorossi, in a caretaker role at the end of the 2010-11 campaign.

For the retired striker, the continued prospect of a return to the team he played a decade at is one he admits remains there.

“I have now renewed with Fiorentina and here I am happy and now it is my only thought,” Montella began to Il Tempo today.

“Someday I would like the opportunity to train abroad.

“A return to Roma? In football, anything can happen, maybe one day…

“Certainly, Roma were very important for my growth, but so too were Catania, and the Della Valle family will always have my gratitude.”

The Coach reflected on Fiorentina’s season so far, which has them fourth in Serie A.

“The credit for this season is to be shared by all, but I must also thank the Della Valle brothers who have given me a squad that is so competitive.

“The victory against Juventus” data-scaytid=”16″>Juventus? We were decisive, that is what made the difference.”

La Viola are also into the Coppa Italia Final against Napoli, which will be played at the Stadio Olimpico.

“It is hard to tell whether playing the Coppa Italia Final in Rome will be an advantage or not, we must also see how Napoli come into that game.

“The Olimpico is very important to me, it has always given me great emotions. There I win a Scudetto and played for 10 years, but for the final it will be necessary not to lose focus.”
