Roma forward Mattia Destro has spoken of his and his teammates’ desire to play for their respective countries at this summer’s World Cup.
The 22-year-old scored twice on Sunday as the Giallorossi defeated Sampdoria and is now hoping to push on.
“The objective for everyone is to get to Brazil,” Destro said following the win. “All I’m thinking about is scoring as many goals as I possibly can.
“I am happy because scoring is very important, but even more important than that is that the team wins, so it’s been a great evening.
“Every Sunday I look to improve. I want to show my worth on the pitch.”
