Cagliari Coach Diego Lopez could be set for a reprieve on the bench, after President Massimo Cellino reportedly had a change of heart.
A fifth League defeat from the last six for the Isolani at the weekend, at home to Livorno, reportedly had Lopez on the verge of the sack on Monday evening.
However, some reports on Tuesday are that in taking the night to reflect on the decision, President Cellino has opted, to continue for now with the 39-year-old Uruguayan in place.
Sporting director Nicola Salerno is believed to have also intervened on Lopez’s behalf.
However, other reports indicate that Lopez is still at risk and his attendance or not at training this afternoon could give the best indication to his future beyond today.
Should Lopez leave, speculation is that Ivo Pulga will be handed control at least temporarily.
