Cagliari keep Lopez, sack Pulga

In a bizarre turnaround, Ivo Pulga has gone from potential Cagliari Coach to sacked from their staff.

The assistant manager had put himself forward for the main job after a dismal run of results, in case they wanted to fire Diego Lopez.

President Massimo Cellino opted not to sack Lopez and it seems the Coach did not take the ‘betrayal’ well.

This evening Cagliari released a statement confirming they had removed Pulga from his position.

Pulga had been the nominal Coach last season when Lopez did not have the necessary paperwork to take the main job, then took a back seat as assistant manager this term.
