Milan full-back Mattia De Sciglio has suffered a suspected bruised and sprained ankle from a challenge by Atletico Madrid’s Emiliano Insua.
The Argentine caught his opponent with a heavy tackle during the first half of Milan’s Champions League Last 16 first leg defeat to Los Colchoneros.
Suffering discomfort afterwards, De Sciglio was soon after forced to be replaced by Ignazio Abate and initial reports indicate that the 21-year-old has suffered a bruised and sprained ankle.
Further tests at the San Carlo hospital to confirm the player’s injury and his prognosis will be carried out during the course of Thursday.
