However, Chiellini, who picked his up 10 days ago against Verona and Barzagli, in suffering his a week before that, are both seen as by no means guaranteed to return in time for the weekend match at home to Torino.
Tuttosport suggest that both defenders are currently a doubt to make the derby and that, in their place, the back-line likely to start against Il Toro will be Leonardo Bonucci, Angelo Ogbonna and Martin Caceres.
