Tuttosport are reporting that Marcello Lippi is in the frame to become the new Coach of the Chinese national team.
The World Cup winner is currently working at Chinese Super League Guangzhou Evergrande but has confirmed he will retire from coaching club sides at the end of the season.
The 65-year-old has been hugely successful since making the move to Asia and this has attracted the attention of the national association (CFA).
However, the CFA will reportedly have to match the salary Lippi currently earns at Evergrande, which is estimated at around €4 million a season.
Any deal would likely see the ex-Juventus boss sign a contract until after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
