Trabzonspor manager Hami Mandirali insists his team scored “a valid goal” in the first leg against Juventus.

The second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 kicks off on Thursday at 20.05 GMT and the Bianconeri have a 2-0 lead to defend.

“Looking back at the game we played in Turin, I’d say we lost 2-0 thanks also to bad luck,” said Mandirali in his Press conference.

“We played a good second half and, despite the defeat, we had an attacking style of football. We had also scored a valid goal, so it’s a shame that wasn’t awarded.”

The ball was put into the net, but the officials ruled it had already gone out of play before the cross came in. Replays are inconclusive.

The Coach was asked whether he expected a more favourable refereeing approach on home turf.

“I do not interfere with the work of the referees. I will only repeat that the goal we scored in Turin was valid.

“Now we ask our fans for a big hand and will do everything to get through this round. We will play Juventus the same way we faced them in the second half in Turin.

“If we are able to repeat that performance and score a goal in the first half, then we can do it. Antonio Conte has some of the best players in the world at his disposal, but I think very highly of mine.

“One thing is for sure, our philosophy is always to attack. Juve are certainly strong, but don’t forget we put three past Lazio” data-scaytid=”14″>Lazio in half an hour.”

Trabzonspor topped Group J ahead of Lazio after a 3-3 draw in Turkey and a 0-0 result at the Stadio Olimpico.
