Stoev: 'Lazio still favourites'

Ludogorets Coach Stoycho Stoev said it “would be absurd to underestimate Lazio” in the Europa League.

The Bulgarians won the first leg 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, so have the advantage going into tomorrow’s decider.

“It would be absurd to underestimate Lazio, even if we beat them in the first leg,” warned the tactician in his Press conference.

“We have the opportunity to progress in this competition and that can only be good for our country. Lazio will come here with a different motivation and attitude, as they really didn’t expect to lose at home.

“We know they will do everything possible to eliminate us, but there is a lot of expectation around us. We played on a par with Lazio in the first leg and that gave us confidence.

“The important thing is that we have reached a level where a side like Lazio has to worry about playing against us.

“However, we can in no way claim to be favourites against an Italian team. It is absurd to suggest we’re underestimating Lazio.”
