Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi has been dropped for Italy’s Under-21 game against Northern Ireland after his red card.
The talented forward had been named in the squad for Wednesday’s European Under-21 Championship qualifier in Lurgan.
However, he was dropped tonight after breaking the code of ethics, as he was sent off in Sassuolo’s 1-0 home defeat to Parma for elbowing Cristian Molinaro.
Coach Gigi Di Biagio has called up Catania striker Francesco Fedato in his place.
There is a similar situation at senior level, as Daniele De Rossi was left out of Italy’s friendly with Spain after he was caught on camera aiming a punch at Mauro Icardi during Roma-Inter.
