Atalanta midfielder Carlos Carmona says his team’s weekend win over Chievo was a vital three points.
The Chilean scored the opening goal in La Dea’s 2-1 victory and the team now look all but safe in their battle against relegation.
“My goal helped get us a vital win,” Carmona told the club’s official website.
“We were playing against a strong team but we were ready to suffer for the win.
“We played a good match against a team who weren’t easy to play against.
“It was a game we couldn’t afford mistakes in, we did it and we can all be very happy with the three points.”
