European Club Association chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that Juventus’ Champions League exit made him ‘sick’.

The Bianconeri exited the competition to Galatasaray after having to play their final group game in Istanbul on a Thursday afternoon with the pitch like a quagmire.

And the head of the ECA has admitted that it was a ridiculous situation for all involved.

“It made me sick to see Juventus go out like they did in Istanbul,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“What happened there was just incredible. You can’t play in a situation like that.

“From what I heard, the game had to be played, but it was a stupid situation.”

The Bayern Munich chairman then commented on the rest of the Champions League Last 16 games, including Milan’s 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid.

“It’s too early to say [whether Bayern will beat Arsenal], but we’re certainly at an advantage.

“The final is a long way away, but we’re enjoying a great moment.

“Milan eliminated? I’m not so sure about that. They can definitely reverse the situation.

“It’ll be tough, but they can do it.”
