Parma sporting director Pietro Leonardi believes goalkeeper Antonio Mirante is one of the best Italy has to offer.
The 30-year-old was part of Cesare Prandelli’s Azzurri squad to face Spain this week and the businessman believes it was a deserved call up.
“If Antonio continues to do what he has been doing for a long time, there are not any better goalkeepers than him in Italy’s top three,” Leonardi told the Parma Channel.
“I’m not the national Coach, so I’m not going to talk about his chances, but I said it would be better if he got called up for the Spain friendly.
“I am very proud of him but what matters to me is that he is playing for Parma!”
