Gasp keeps Genoa grounded

Gian Piero Gasperini urged Genoa to focus on Chievo before they get lofty ideas about European ambitions.

The Grifone visit the Stadio Bentegodi at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“We worked very well this week and I was truly proud to see so many of our players called up for international duty,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“So far we are doing well and are almost mathematically safe, but only once we’ve achieved that can we look at where we could end up.

“We must maintain a high level of concentration in these remaining 12 rounds to pick up as many points as possible.

“It is going to be very difficult against Chievo, as they are a strong side and in desperate need of points.”

Genoa are forced to reshuffle, as Nicolas Burdisso and Andrea Bertolacci are suspended with Alessandro Gamberini, Sime Vrsaljko and Juraj Kucka injured.

Chievo also have issues to deal with, as Bostjan Cesar, Gennaro Sardo and Dario Dainelli all sit out bans.
