Sampdoria are set to appoint former Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida, as they also try to extend Sinisa Mihajlovic’s stay as Coach.

Club President Edoardo Garrone yesterday negotiated by mutual consent Rinaldo Sagramola’s exit from the technical set-up at Marassi and it is strongly suggested today in Italy that Braida will be brought in as replacement sporting director.

Whilst Braida, who ended a 27 year stay with Milan in December, is expected to only officially arrive at the club in the summer, he is expected to start work with Garrone, Carlo Osti and increasingly influential Stefano Remondini much sooner.

One of their priorities is seen to be negotiating an extended contract with Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Whilst the club are seen to be working to a limited budget, Mihajlovic, who has overseen a turnaround in fortunes on the pitch, is seen as ready to commit to a new deal only if financial guarantees to strengthen the team in the summer are met.
