On from a quick return to first team affairs under Walter Mazzarri, the Nerazzurri have been seen as planning an extension for the midfielder.

Reports today are that preliminary talks have now begun, with the 27-year-old’s agent Marcelo Ferreyra yesterday meeting with sporting director Piero Ausilio, who has also commented as much today.

Calcionews24 are running the line that a draft agreement to extend his current deal beyond its June 2017 expiry is already in place.

Details surrounding Guarin’s potential pay-rise remain to be resolved, however, with the player understood to be keen to see his earnings boosted by  €1m, to take him up to the base €3.5m salary that Juve had reportedly agreed with him for that unsuccessful January move.

Ferreyra is seen as likely to stay in Milan for the next two weeks to continue talks, whilst a next meeting with Ausilio is believed to be scheduled for Friday.
