'What do we want from Rafa?'

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has praised Coach Rafa Benitez, insisting the Spaniard could not have done more in his first season at San Paolo.

The Azzurri lie third in Serie A, are in the Coppa Italia final and have reached the Last 16 of the Europa League.

“Benitez is someone you need to give the necessary time to,” De Laurentiis said to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“Italians always want to have everything immediately.

“This man has taken a new project on board, a lot of players have left the club.

“But we are third, with 12 new players, we are in the final of the Coppa Italia and we are doing well in the Europa League compared to in the past.

“What do we want from this man?

“Thanks to him we have taken on board the fact that to do well in Europe you have to play a 4-2-3-1 formation and not 3-5-2.

“Rafa is always there taking notes, giving instructions, he is very prepared and he is a great worker.

“We play good football under Rafa and with him we can reach high levels.”

The film producer then discussed goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

“People don’t talk a lot about the goalkeepers,” he said.

“But they have the same value as the attackers and this year we have been very lucky.

“Pepe is one of the best in the world.”
