Mario Gomez says Fiorentina must play even better in next week’s Europa League second leg if they want to progress against Juventus.
The German international scored a late equaliser in last night’s 1-1 draw at Juventus Stadium, his first since his comeback from injury.
“I am pleased with the goal but also to be back,” Gomez wrote on his official Facebook page.
“It’s not easy coming back after five months out but my fitness is getting there little by little.
“My understanding with my teammates is improving every day too.
“I am pleased with the draw, most of all for the fans and the club.
“But we have only got a good result in the away leg.
“For the return game we need an even better performance.
“Thank you very much for all your support!”
