Roberto Baggio has reflected on his continued affinity with Brescia and his gratitude towards club President Gigi Corioni.

The 47-year-old former No 10 was back at the Rigamonti yesterday night as part of an organised event to mark 20 years since the club won the Anglo-Italian Cup against Notts County.

Whilst the likes of Pep Guardiola sent in messages, Baggio was present for the evening.

“I’m here because the link with Brescia has never been broken,” Baggio told reporters.

“I’m back to say goodbye to so many friends and that great fighter who is the President.

“They were four wonderful years from 2000 to 2004. It was a period that I will never forget.

“How can I forget the trust given to me by Gino Corioni at a particular moment? I love him, he is a lion and is always fighting.”
