Pavel Nedved warned Juventus not to look beyond Lyon in the Europa League. “The road to the Final is long.”
The Bianconeri were paired with Olympique Lyonnais in the quarter-finals and are among the favourites, especially as the Final will be at the Juventus Stadium in Turin.
“The road to the Final is still long,” noted Nedved, who is now a director at the club.
“I am proud to be for the second year running the only Italian representative at the quarter-final draw, even if it was the Champions League last season.
“The draw is difficult, even if on paper everyone keeps talking about Juve as if they are already in the Final. The Europa League must be faced with a serious attitude.
“I don’t think it is an advantage to play the Final on home turf, anyway. Now we must focus only on the quarter-final.”
Andrea Pirlo’s free kick secured their place in the quarters, eliminating Fiorentina 2-1 on aggregate.
“Andrea is a phenomenon and we are happy to have him. Pirlo already met with the club for renewal talks and I don’t think there will be problems.”
