Rolando Maran hopes a “courageous” Catania performance against Juventus can give them confidence.
The bottom of the table club forced runaway leaders Juve to fight hard for a 1-0 result at the Stadio Massimino, even after Gonzalo Bergessio’s red card.
“We don’t pick up any points and we needed them, but this performance can give us something on a psychological level,” said the Coach.
“We played a courageous game and showed real character. Perhaps we deserved something more from this match.
“Even if we are propping up the table, there are still nine rounds to go and with performances like this we can still fight.
“After all, few teams have managed to take points off Juve.”
Catania have 20 points, but there are five teams all within a radius of six points and only three relegation places.
Cagliari are also at risk on 29 points, followed by Bologna, Chievo, Livorno and Sassuolo.
