Nantes forward Filip Djordjevic believes he has made the perfect choice by agreeing to join Lazio at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old also wants current Biancocelesti striker Miroslav Klose to remain at Stadio Olimpico so he can learn from him.

“I chose Lazio because they really wanted me,” Djordjevic told Serbia site Rts.rs. “I needed a new challenge after spending six and a half years at Nantes.

“I had better offers financially but I wanted to play in an important league and for a great team in order to show my quality.

“So I was looking for a team that would guarantee me regular games, and that was the case with Lazio.

“Lazio fight for a European place every season so they are a perfect match for my ambition.

“Klose’s contract expires at the end of the season.

“I really want him to stay, I would be able to learn things off him.

“He is one of the greatest strikers in history.”
