Verona Coach Andrea Mandorlini has come out in defence of his team following their recent slump in form.

The Gialloblu lost 5-0 at Sampdoria on Sunday, their third defeat in succession and fourth consecutive game without a win.

“We have had a dip but not a crisis,” Mandorlini said at his pre-match Press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s match with Cagliari.

“Now we need to look forward. Against Sampdoria we could have scored when it was 2-0 but the third goal killed us off.

“It was a horrible result but now we have another game in which we can react.

“At the start of the season everyone said we would be in the relegation zone, but we’re in March and we’re already safe.

“But we’re just looking at the present moment. I can see the boys developing during training every week.

“I am happy here, I’m only thinking about Hellas and I’m not thinking about going anywhere else.

“We are not playing as brilliantly as we were earlier in the season. We are going through a tough period but that’s normal during a long season.”
