An apparent planned meeting between Walter Mazzarri and Erick Thohir over their future together at Inter has been postponed.

The duo met momentarily yesterday at Appiano Gentile, but according to the Corriere dello Sport, decided to delay a meeting over the future, so as not to distract from preparations for the team’s match with Udinese this evening.

Instead, it is understood that Coach and President will talk at the end of the season, when the issue of Europa League qualification will be resolved.

Instead, it is understood that Coach and President will talk at the end of the season, when the issue of Europa League qualification will be resolved.

It is speculated that both men are after assurances of commitment from the other – Thohir is looking for Mazzarri to support every aspect of an intended three-year plan which will rely predominantly on youth players.

Former Napoli boss Mazzarri is similarly seen as after guarantees that Thohir’s faith in him is genuine and not just because his contract has another 18 months remaining.

Thohir commented earlier this week that everyone at the club ‘is under scrutiny’, including Mazzarri.
