Inter’s Esteban Cambiasso has praised the work done by both Roberto Mancini and Jose Mourinho at San Siro.

The two former Nerazzurri Coaches have been locked in a war of words recently but the Argentine said both men had contributed greatly to his time at the club.

“Mancini was the one who signed me,” Cambiasso told Le Buteur. “He did a great job.

“Inter weren’t winning anything before he came but under him we got back to winning ways.

“He transformed the team.

“Then Mourinho arrived and with him we made an even bigger jump. We won the Champions League, which we hadn’t done for 45 years.

“Those two have shaped my story at Inter, but let’s not forget the contributions of Bentiez or Leonardo either.”

The 33-year-old then commented on his exclusion from the Argentine setup during Diego Maradona’s reign as Coach.

“In football you need to play well, but you also need to be what the Coach is looking for,” he said.

“In this case, Maradona didn’t want me and chose other players. That was something I needed to accept.

“I love the national team because it is thanks to them that I have been able to do what I have.”
