Milan defender Phillipe Mexes has paid tribute to his side’s character following their 2-0 win at Fiorentina.
The Frenchman scored the Rossoneri’s first goal last night at Artemio Franchi and believes the win will do the team a power of good.
“Yesterday it was crucial to bring home the victory,” Mexes has said to the Milan Channel. “It has been great for morale, we could have won at Lazio too.
“It was a success that will do the whole group good. We were very compact and at a very difficult moment we needed a positive result.
“My goal? Muntari was there and could have scored as well but what counts is the result.
“But naturally I am pleased with the goal I scored.”
