“The defeat to Sassuolo on Wednesday really hurt,” said the Coach in his Press conference after a 2-1 home loss.

“Now we have to get back on track and try to put in a great performance against Roma. It’s a shame the way things have gone, as there are fewer and fewer rounds left for us to turn the situation around.

“It’s getting really difficult, but we need optimism. We have to believe. It’ll take something more to get a result against Roma, but I can say for certain our determination will never be lacking.”

Sassuolo have already stalled the Giallorossi with a last-gasp 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico earlier this season.

The injury list remains lengthy with Matteo Brighi, Luca Marrone, Antonio Floro Flores, Thomas Manfredini and Paolo Bianco among others.

Sassuolo squad for Roma: Pomini, Pegolo, Polito; Longhi, Antei, Ariaudo, Gazzola, Terranova, Cannavaro, Mendes; Magnanelli, Missiroli, Biondini, Chibsah, Ziegler, Rosi; Floccari, Zaza, Masucci, Sansone, Berardi, Farias, Sanabria
