FIGC President Giancarlo Abete has praised the work done by Italian national team boss Cesare Prandelli.
The Coach has recently signed a two-year contract extension with the Azzurri, keeping him with the team until the 2016 European Championships in France.
And despite some uncertainty about whether the former Fiorentina man would extend, the association’s chief has revealed his delight at Prandelli putting pen-to-paper.
“The renewal of Cesare’s contract is a signal for the future,” he told reporters. “There is great confidence in his work and in his staff.
“We are aware of the work that he has done in recent years – second at Euro 2012, third at the Confederations Cup.
“He’s also done tremendous stuff in terms of initiatives put in place and positives messages to the players and the media.”
