Livorno’s hopes of avoiding relegation suffered a blow with news Emerson will be out for three weeks.
The Brazilian defender sprained his right ankle with damage to the ligaments during last night’s 2-2 draw with Inter.
Medical staff warned he will be out of action for approximately three weeks.
This means Emerson is going to miss important Livorno games against Juventus, Chievo and Milan.
He hopes to be back in action for April 27 against Lazio.
The 33-year-old centre-back is one of the key Amaranto figures and scored two goals in 27 Serie A games this season.
He was also instrumental in their promotion from Serie B last year.
