Pepe Reina’s agent denied reports he had rejected a Napoli contract offer. “We haven’t started negotiations yet.”
There were suggestions this week that Reina had turned down the first proposal for a four-year deal, as it would almost halve his current wages.
“In any case, we haven’t started negotiations for Reina’s future with the Azzurri yet, at least not for the moment,” representative Manuel Garcia Quilon told Tuttonapoli.
The goalkeeper is currently on loan from Liverpool, who do not seem to want him back at the end of the season.
Napoli’s chances of keeping Reina received a boost with news Barcelona, who were also very interested in signing him, have been banned from making transfers for the next two windows after breaching FIFA rules on under-age players.
