Thohir: 'Handanovic saved Inter'

Inter President Erick Thohir was unimpressed with the 2-2 draw against Bologna. “Samir Handanovic saved the point.”

The patron was in the stands of San Siro for last night’s game, which saw his team twice fumble a lead and miss a penalty.

“Handanovic saved the point, as we risked defeat,” Thohir told Sky Sport Italia.

“Mauro Icardi proved how dangerous he can be in attack.”

The Indonesian businessman left the stadium straight after the match and didn’t pass by the locker room first. Was this a sign he was annoyed with the squad or Walter Mazzarri?

“I didn’t go by the locker room because I wanted to give time to the players and Coach.”

Inter have picked up just three draws in the last four rounds and their Europa League qualification is now under threat.
