Kevin Constant has revealed that Clarence Seedorf “told me in January that I had to show that I deserved to be at Milan.”
The full-back has struggled to impress fans in his spell at San Siro so far but since Seedorf’s appointment, the Rossoneri haven’t lost in Serie A when he has appeared for them.
“I do not know if I give balance to the team, but everyone is much more careful, we have changed our attitude,” Constant reflected on the run after extending it with victory over Genoa on Monday night.
“I am always available, Seedorf told me in January that I had to show that I deserved to be at Milan.
“I have tried to work in this direction and the Coach has shown me confidence.
“Against Genoa? I took a knock on the head but it was not serious and I stayed in the field until the end, giving it 100 per cent.
“Congratulations to Genoa, who played a good game, but we managed to do more.”
Keisuke Honda netted in the win, after enduring a difficult
“[Sunday] I spoke to him before training, I told him to stay calm and that it takes a little while to adapt. He was already working a lot but here has found the goal, has fought and after the whistle I have gone to hug him for this.
“The fans? In the talks with them they have told us to give our best, it is not easy for them, but we thank them for their trust.”
