New Catania Coach Maurizio Pellegrino says the club can deal with spending a season in Serie B, as long as it is followed by 10 in Serie A.
The 48-year-old has replaced the sacked Rolando Maran but accepts it is very difficult to see the Elefanti staying up this season.
“I was called in by the club and I am happy with the consideration they gave me,” Pellegrino told the press.
“My job is to work as hard as I can to make sure the team approaches the final games of the season in the best way possible.
“We are conscious of the moment the team is going through and the difficulties it has faced and continues to face.
“But there is one guarantee and that is the project at the club.
“We can deal with a year in Serie B, but then we must spend 10 in Serie A!
“The club is working towards achieving this aim.”
