Luca Toni has revealed his ambition to be called up for the World Cup this summer, after an impressive season with Verona.
The veteran forward has netted 16 goals for the Gialloblu this term, and has been constantly linked with a return to the Azzurri fold for the tournament.
And the towering goalscorer has admitted that he would love to get a call from Cesare Prandelli.
“I hope that I get called up by the Coach for the World Cup,” he told Chi.
“I’ve scored 16 goals in the League this season – and none of them have been penalties!
“I certainly feel as if I’ve been playing well, but we’ll see what happens.”
