'Catania will fight for their lives'

Adriano Galliani is wary of a Catania backlash when Milan host the Sicilian side on Sunday evening.

The Rossoneri play the Elefanti at San Siro this weekend, looking for the three points that could take them into seventh place.

But with the visitors having sacked Rolando Maran for Maurizio Pellegrino this week, the club’s director is cautious of an uplift in performance.

“We know it’s going to be difficult against Catania,” he told reporters. “They have to win to save themselves.

“They’re in desperate need of points and have just appointed a new man – they’re fighting for their lives.”

Galliani also commented on the club’s recent upturn in results.

“The victories are bringing a positive atmosphere, so we’re feeling a lot better now.

“Football is a sport that goes in cycles. People mistakenly think that if you’re winning, you’ll always win.

“However, after 28 years in the game, I’ve come to understand that it’s not like that.

“Will we reach the Europa League? That depends on how we get on in the next two games.”
