Fiorentina go for Giaccherini?

Emanuele Giaccherini is reportedly set for a return to Italy with Fiorentina if Sunderland are relegated.

The Italy international only made the move to the Premier League in July 2013 for £6.6m (€7.5m), but has struggled to make his mark with only 19 appearances.

Sunderland have fared even worse, as they are bottom of the table and look very likely for the drop.

According to Calcionews24.com, Fiorentina are eager to snap up the former Juventus midfielder for next season.

This isn’t the first time Giaccherini has been linked with the Viola, as he was already on their radar in 2011, but he opted for Juve instead.

Genoa would also be interested, but his €2m per year wages would be a problem for a mid-table club.
