Francesco Guidolin is satisfied that Simone Scuffet is ready to go to the World Cup, if Gianluigi Buffon says so.
The Italy No 1 has already issued his public support for the Udinese 17-year-old to make Cesare Prandelli’s 23-man squad to go to Brazil this summer, and the Zebrette Coach isn’t disagreeing.
“If Buffon says Scuffet is ready for the World Cup, that’s good enough for me,” Guidolin has told reporters this week.
“I like the Juventus goalkeeper - he is smart, he always shows his face and he is wise.
“Scuffet is amazing, the son every parent would want to have. I do not think that will change and he is a guy who has received an excellent education.
“I see him as a guy with great prospects and firm values.”
Guidolin, whose Udinese will host Juve on Monday night, was asked about the speculation over his future at the club beyond the end of this season.
“The first thing to do is to consider that everyone is under discussion, starting with the Coach, especially in the season finale which is the part of the season which you remember the most.
“If you feel challenged then it means that you are motivated and this is the first step.
“We will be professional until the end, I want maximum effort, concentration and determination.
“I believe that the group has a chance to get a points total of between 45 and 50 points in the League.”
