The centre-back, who joined on an initial loan deal from Valencia in the summer, now hopes that the Rossoneri take up the purchase option they have on him come June.

“I am happy here, whilst now we are winning,” Rami explained to Sky Sport 24.

“Here I am good, and I hope to stay, I am working to be a regular starter and to become the best – I want to end my career at Milan.

“My idol? Alessandro Nesta. I have always had this great love of his football, for me he was the best, a player with a big personality.”

Milan have struggled for consistency this term and currently sit 11th in Serie A.

“When can we return to winning? I have no fear in saying, next year, a year is enough. I have no doubt, Milan will be on the up in the next year.

“Seedorf? He is strict, he loves perfection and punctuality and appreciates those who work hard. In respect of the past, we are already playing better.”

Rami, however, doesn’t see any hope in making France’s squad for the World Cup.

“I play at a great club, I am doing well, but I will not go to the World Cup – the Coach has already chosen his men and I respect his choices.”
