Italian sources claim Manchester City are targeting Inter’s Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

According to transfer guru Alfredo Pedullà and Mediaset, the Citizens are keeping a close eye on the shot-stopper.

Handanovic is widely considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A and is a Slovenian international.

The 29-year-old has been rather let down by the Nerazzurri defence this season, but was hugely impressive last term.

His price-tag is thought to be around £21m (€24m) and Inter could sell Handanovic in order to raise funds for other transfer activity, including City striker Edin Dzeko.

After all, they have Italy Under-21 international Francesco Bardi already on their books after a season on loan at Livorno.

Manchester City have long been linked with a series of ‘keepers, as Joe Hart and Costel Pantilimon are considered unreliable.

Handanovic was also said to be on Barcelona’s radar, but they now have to deal with the FIFA transfer ban.
