Edy Reja is dealing with a Lazio injury crisis, but assures they are “going to play for a win” at Napoli.
It kicks off on Sunday at the Stadio San Paolo at 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT), click here for a match preview.
“Napoli always do well on home turf, but Lazio are very motivated and those who haven’t played as much will want to make their mark,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“We’re going to play for a win, anyway. We’ve got to make the most of the spaces they will leave us and also be more ruthless.”
Miroslav Klose is out of action along with Giuseppe Biava, Andre Dias, Alvaro Gonzalez, Ederson, Federico Marchetti, Diego Novaretti and the suspended Lucas Biglia unavailable.
There are also huge doubts over ex-Barcelona talent Keita Balde Diao, who is suffering from a knee problem.
“I don’t know if I’ll field Helder Postiga or Stefano Mauri, but it also depends on how Napoli are set out.
“Felipe Anderson has a weight taken off his shoulders, while you all know Mauri and Postiga is finding his form. Klose will be out for a while.
“There is a big difference between Lazio and Napoli, light years in fact, but some are amplified by this tournament. In any case, there are six games to go and we need to give our all so that our real worth can shine through.”
Reja was a fan favourite at Napoli, helping them to promotion from Serie B when the club was reborn after bankruptcy.
“I know Naples and it is a very demanding place, they always want the team to win. They changed philosophy and style under Rafa Benitez to begin a new era. They are at the start of this journey and have to make the side competitive in the Champions League too.
“I don’t know who will qualify for the Europa League, but last week I had hoped Napoli would stall Parma’s progress.”
