The 42 Italy players called up by Cesare Prandelli will undergo tests on Monday and Tuesday ahead of the World Cup.
Italy will have to whittle down their squad to 23 members for the trip to Brazil in June, but the Coach warned these fitness tests will help him decide who is in the best shape for the difficult climactic conditions.
The players – who do not include those currently playing outside of Italy – will arrive at the Coverciano training ground on Monday morning.
Those playing for Juventus, Milan and Udinese are expected on Tuesday, as they have Serie A commitments.
All 42 will undergo a series of fitness tests and this will include blood tests.
On Tuesday at the end of the get-together, Italy will present their song for the World Cup Finals, Un Amore Così Grande 2014 by the band Negramaro.
